"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
Maybe you've heard Hippocrates' famous quote once before. Here at Organic Baby Food Shop we know that a good diet is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Especially in these challenging days it's very important to provide us and our little ones with great nutrients. Luckily, there are many tasty foods that boost your and your baby's immune system. Today we want to share some of these superfoods with you!
Berries: Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries... These delicious fruits are packed full of antioxidants. You can buy them fresh or frozen and blend them with other yummy fruits, yogurt or oat meal.
Yogurt: Sugar-free plain yogurt provides your baby with probiotics. These are good bacteria which help to keep your baby's gut healthy and thus boost the immune system. Serve it with organic fruits or blend it in healthy veggie purees.
Avocado: This popular fruit contains a lot of vitamins that strengthen your baby's immune response. The healthy fats help to absorb important nutrients. Therefore adding it to your little one's dinner will make the most of all healthy ingredients you feed them! Mash it into a smooth puree or cut it in handy slices.
Sweet Potatoes: These yummy veggies are packed with beta-carotene. Our body transforms it into vitamin A, which is needed for a healthy immune system. Try our delicious sweet potatoes recipe! Dark leafy greens (such as kale and spinach), carrots, squash, red & yellow peppers are also very high in beta-carotene.
Brown Rice: The healthy rice provides your baby with magnesium and selenium, which boost immunity. Combine cooked organic brown rice with steamed vegetables or mix it with yogurt and fruits.
