Easy Baby Halloween Costumes

Your baby's first Halloween costume

October 24, 2018

Ok, we admit it! Your baby most likely won't remember her/his first Halloween, but that won't stop us from creating some fun memories even if only for us parents, right? That's right!

There are many choices when it comes to baby Halloween costumes but the price for something your little one will wear only ones can be, to say the least, quite high. Our solution? Making one ourselves, of course! Worry not, just like you we are parents that barely get a good night sleep, nevermind putting our non-existent designer skills to use, so we searched the internet for funny but easy costumes that should not take more than an hour of your time to make.

Here are our favorite ones, based on easiness:

The Baby Grape costume

What you will need:

  • About 5-10 balloons, any color though we think that green, purple or red are best.
  • Air pump (for the balloons)
  • 5-10 safety pins (or more depending on the number of balloons you will use)
  • A one-piece baby jumpsuit, preferably in the same color as the balloons
  • Optional a hat and fake leaves

This is how:  Blow the balloons up to the size you want. Carefully attach the balloons to the jumpsuit, using the part of the Knot. Attach the fake leave to the hat with pins. For more details watch Evette´s Rios Youtube video:

Baby Avocado

Oh, you know how much we love avocados at Organic Baby Food Shop, so we were thrilled to find an easy but super cute avocado costume.

What you will need:

  • A dark green one-piece baby suit
  • A piece of green / Yellowish fabric (ideally lighter than the baby suit)
  • Brown piece of fabric
  • A pair of scissors
  • Sewing equipment (needle, thread, and scissors)

This is how: Carefully cut the brown fabric into a circle, this will be the avocado seed. Cut the green/yellowish fabric into a circle too, bigger than the green one, this will be that part circling around the seed. Sew the brown piece unto the green/yellowish circle. Sew the green-yellowish circle with the brown center on to the green jumpsuit. Et voila! You have the cutest little avocado baby!

Caution: This costume is so adorable you might want to actually take a bite of the avocado, please don't! :)

80’s workout baby

This one is great, as you might already have everything you need to make this funny costume! We have to warn you though, there is a big chance you will end up singing:  “let's get physical, physical..!” while dressing up your little one!

 What you need:

  • A baby jumpsuit, any color
  • A baby t-shirt, big enough to go over the jumpsuit and tight a knot in it
  • Baby trainers
  • Socks
  • Baby tights or leggings (different color than the jumpsuit)
  • Baby trainers
  • Workout band

This is how: Dress your baby in the jumpsuit and wear the t-shirt on top, tightening a little knot over the belly. Put the legging/tights on and put the socks over them, pulling them up to the knees, and then put on trainers. Place workout band on baby's head. And there you go! Let's workout baby!
