Christmas Baby Food ideas and yummy recipes

The good news is, Christmas dinner for your baby can be put together very easily with some of the same ingredients you will be eating too.

Organic Turkey

Starting at 7 months, your baby can enjoy Turkey.

You will need:

2 cooked organic broccoli florets

1 medium cooked organic carrot

1 large turkey slice

1 cooked organic potato

This is how:

Make sure not to add salt to the cooked veggies. Blend the turkey with your food processor and add a bit of water or your homemade organic stock until it reaches the desired consistency. Add the organic potato that will help you thicken the mixture as also the remaining veggies and puree until it reaches the desired consistency.  This recipe can also be used with other organic meats or vegetables just make sure it is age appropriate and organic.

Organic Homemade Gravy

We never (ok, almost never!) consume store-bought gravy as it usually contains a lot of salt and just does not taste half as good as our homemade one. To create your own healthy gravy simply use half a cup of cooked veggies and puree with 1 cup of the meat juice straight from the pan, you can also add a little bit of organic tomato puree to make it extra tasty. Make sure to not add too much salt though.

Homemade stuffing recipe

This one is an all time favorite!

We use our favorite bread (one big loaf) and let it sit for 2 today’s to make sure it has dried and cut it into small cubes.

Other than bread you will need:

1 oz (1/8 cup) celery, very finely chopped

1 oz (1/8 cup) organic grass fed butter

2 oz (1/4 cup) onion, very finely chopped

1 fl oz (1/8 cup) organic homemade chicken stock or vegetable stock

A little bit of organic sage

and a pinch of organic parsley

This is how:

  1. Melt the organic grass fed butter and sauté the onion and celery until they are translucent in a pan.
  2. Mix the onions celery with the butter and add the bread cubes together with the herbs and add the stock, mix well.
  3. Place the stuffing mixture on a greased oven proof dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until brown on top. Yum!

Apple sauce

Our little ones loveeee apple sauce and so do we. It goes great with Christmas dinner too.

You will need:

3 organic apples

Half a lemon

Water

Food processor

This is how:

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples 3 organic apples.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of water into a large pot, add the apples and three spoons of organic lemon juice and bring to boil.
  3. When the apples are soft, use a food processor until smooth.
