Everything your Organic Baby Formula should have

September 27, 2018

Nutrition, besides love, is one of the most important things your baby will need to grow into a healthy happy little person. Breast milk naturally already contains absolutely everything your baby needs, but when it comes to formula feeding, not every brand is the same.

We have made it our mission and goal to find the absolute best baby formulas and make them available to parents all over the world. If you have been following our blog, you might have noticed that one of our favorite topics are the ingredients of baby formulas and there is a good reason for that.

It is essential to choose a baby formula that is truly organic and as close to breastmilk as possible, don't always trust the labels that claim to be “organic” and always make sure you study the ingredients carefully before making a purchase.

We have talked a lot about what your Baby Formula should not include: Carrageenan, Synthetic DHA, and ARA, Sucrose, Soy, Synthetic Nutrients (such as L-carnitine), Dioxin, GMO, Melamine... but today we want to take a look at all at the good things your formula should not miss out on.

Let's have a closer look of what ingredients your organic baby formula should include:

Protein Content:

All formulas have a different protein content,  the correct amount depends on your baby's age. While protein is great and absolutely necessary, the excessive intake of protein is not ideal. For example, if your baby is still an infant and at stage pre or stage 1, the right amount of protein should not be more than 10 grams a day.

Fatty acids:

Fatty acids are very important as they are also found in breast milk. Make sure to choose a formula that contains both DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and ARA (arachidonic acid). These fatty acids are important because it supports brain, eye, and nervous system development.

Lactose:

Choose a formula that includes lactose as a carbohydrate and natural sweetener. Should your baby be lactose intolerant, choose a Goat milk formula.

Vitamins, nutrients, and minerals:

Make sure you select a formula that includes the following vitamins and minerals. Carbohydrate, Fiber, Sodium (not more than 0.07 gram per 100 ml fluid) Vitamins: A, D, E, K, C Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Niacin, Folate, Biotin, Pantothenic acid, Natrium, Potassium, Chloride, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Ferric, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Fluoride, Selenium, Iodine, Choline.
