At the end of the 19th century, Joseph Hipp´s wife encountered difficulties nursing her two baby twins, due to not having enough breastmilk. Innovating as Mr. Hipp was, he came up with an idea that was thought to be revolutionary at the time: he used hand crushed rusks and milk to make baby cereal. Soon other parents with similar nursing difficulties were intrigued by the idea and wanted to give it a try and based on the increasing demand in 1932 they opened their first little shop.
