Discovering that you are expecting a new baby is filled with emotions! From excitement to questions to perhaps even some worries...newly expecting parents may find themselves experiencing all of these feelings and more. One of the most thrilling parts of finding out about a baby on the way however is getting to share that joyful news with loved ones! Finding just the right way to announce this big news can be overwhelming, but we have come up with a few creative ideas that will help you spread the news while indulging loved ones in some tasty fun as well! Here are three ways to incorporate food into your Pregnancy Announcement!
1. Bun In The Oven
This idea requires just a bit of prep work, but will come together as a complete little kit to hand off to the recipients that includes (almost all of) the ingredients they need to bake themselves organic buns at home!
To make this kit, fill a Large Mason Jar with 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 1 3/4 tsp Salt & a handful of sesame seeds. You could even label the jar to say "Bun In The Oven Recipe" & include a little print out of the ultrasound! Handwrite or type up a gift tag that includes the directions that read the following:
"Direction for Your Bun In The Oven: Combine contents of jar with 1 cup warm water, 3 tbsp whole organic milk, 2 tbsp honey and one organic egg! Mix until all are combined. Knead in 2 tbsp butter until it forms into a loaf of dough and then allow it to set on a countertop covered in flour for 8 hours. Once the dough rises, break it into 8-10 equal parts, place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes at 400 degrees! Enjoy!"
2. Cutie Coming Soon
This idea is super simple and requires little to no prep work! Simply fill a basket with tiny cutie fruits and add a sign that reads "Cutie Coming Soon!" Recipients can each enjoy eating a cutie while learning that there is a new cutie on the way!
3. Host a Baby Q
This idea is a fun way to announce a new pregnancy to a group! Invite your loved ones to join you for a barbqeque, but upon their arrival...have a sign displayed that reads "We have a bun in the oven and burgers on the grill for you, Welcome to Our Baby Q!" This is a fun spin on a traditional barbeque and you can even serve "baby themed foods" such as baby corn, baby carrots and buns on the side!
If you are a second time parent, you may find this article helpful, too!
Wishing you a wonderful nine months!
